5 factors to consider while creating effective Ads
When you look back 10 years ago to the “mad men” days, you will realize that most of the ads for small businesses were not so creative and based on assumptions, false stories, or gut feelings. None of them had a real idea of promoting something uniquely and creatively.
However, in today’s dynamic landscape where everyone feels inundated with attractive banner ads, billboards, and pop-ups, it’s important to come up with something original, inspirational, and motivational.
Since every small business tends to cut costs on advertising and marketing, display ads look like the best option. These ads convey the message creatively & colourfully using exceptional design sense.
But unfortunately, it’s not manageable for a person who has the least sense of designing; that’s why if you are a business owner in Pakistan, relying on an ads agency in Islamabad is such a great relief- where professional people help you create an outstanding ad reflects best to your service and convey an astonishing message through compelling visual elements.
Ad agencies add all the ingredients that make your ads favourite of today’s audience that seek something unique and attractive. Here are some important factors considered by the professional team before coming up with an outstanding advertisement idea.
- Create a single message to highlight:
Well, it may sound easy, but actually it’s quite challenging to do. Most businesses tend to add a lot of things to the message to make it appealing to the audience.
But the fact is when you add a lot of words, images, and other stuff, you are just making your ad boring, ineffective, and unattractive which even confuses your audience about the real message. They couldn’t understand what you try to convey.
The best thing is, picking only one message you want to highlight. Whether you are selling a product, introducing your new service, or emphasizing any other important element of your business, it’s best to engage your audience by promoting one thing at a time and never involve them in any confusion so they couldn’t even take interest to see the whole ad.
- Use more white space:
By implementing some best design techniques for your ad, people can actually see something interesting and useful that can engage them for minutes. The fact is, the internet is full of useless things and clutter, so if the design is looking more cluttered than compelling, this means you are not using white space in your ad.
Only a small portion of the white space can actually benefit your ad a lot. According to research, people see some lightest and brightest parts of the ads first. When you leave a lot of white space around in the ad surrounding your images and content, then you are simply encouraging more users to check the details first.
- Think about the colors:
It’s extremely important to rethink your color choices while designing an effective ad for your business. you don’t need to stick to that standard color palette all the time. But you can choose the brightest background colors to grasp people’s attention.
Another tip is choosing the site where you are going to post the ad. Then match your color scheme with the theme of that site and create the contrasts efficiently by complementing together all the shades of your ad and the site.
When you have to decide on colors, never forget to include white and black. Because if your business ad has to run among the seas of color, a white and black theme could do wonders and the audience might notice the ad among your competitors.
You can also emphasize your information while highlighting it using different amazing colors that suit your services. Well, these elements are a little hard to consider especially if you have the least knowledge about the design principles, that’s why I suggest considering an ads agency in Islamabad is the right choice for your rapid progress.
- Pick visuals carefully:
When people come across your ad, first they notice are great images.
Because a simple static image can either make or break the look of your whole advertisement. If you are using white space more often, then remember images should bright, clear, engaging, and sharp so that your audience takes more interest and understand the real purpose of your ad.
Most of the professional’s designs tend to pick real faces or close up photos of the products. They do not add some complicated shapes or patterns that have a confusing background and involve users in irritation.
Try this tip: Think of the images that could sum up the overall idea of your product in a single word. That is going to be your perfect image. Right?
- A specific call to action:
Let’s expand further and apply the trick that converts random visitors into lifelong customers.
Yes, I am talking about adding compelling calls to action that inspire users to take final action to connect with your services.
Because when your audience receives the message, what other things you could expect further? You obviously want them to click the button that directly takes them to your website or the call option.
Without adding such a call to action, it’s almost impossible to engage people or help them consider your product.
Now I know this may sound simple to most of the audience, but the fact is, it confuses many people and they lose potential leads without proper knowledge of this aspect.
That’s why thinking of some compelling words could do wonders in converting the audience. Rather than using simple “contact us” or “click here,” it’s better to use something which inspires the audience to approach you faster.
For example, “Learn more to get 50% off.” “Sign up today and get a chance to win.” “click here for more deals.”
This type of call to action is more than specific and gives users a reason to approach you- which definitely gives advantages to your business as well.
Conclusion:
Just as other marketing elements are changing rapidly for bringing more advancement, so are the advertising campaigns.
While many of you are still unaware of the benefits of choosing the right ads agency in Islamabad that also provides video production and animation services, you have time to consider all the above-mentioned design principles that can make a huge difference in your campaign.
So, if you want to make more noise about your business, choose your advertising agency carefully and never forget to include these elements in your campaign that can stand your company apart from the rest.

How to pitch an idea more effectively?
The task of bringing an idea to someone with the power to do something with it is called a pitch: such as software ideas, creative solutions, implementation strategies, movie screenplays, organizational changes, and business plans are all pitched from one person to another. Although the fields or industries may differ, the basic skill of pitching ideas is the same.
In this article, I am going to share some of my favorite pitching strategies. You will learn everything you need to know about an effective pitch.
Let’s get started.
Create and Refine your Idea
Good ideas include some thinking about execution and delivery. Your pitch shouldn’t be too much fantasized and unreal. Saying, we should make a movie that is a comedy and convey a spiritual and moral message at the end to all the age groups. The idea sounds interesting but it won’t be a good idea in the sense of pitch-work until there is both some logic for how to make it real within reasonable limitations. Until the concepts and hard parts are fleshed out enough to demonstrate that the spirit of an idea is matched with specifics, the idea doesn’t have much of a strong foundation. People can easily dismiss your idea just by asking 2 or 3 basic questions. Always remember that moving from an interesting but vague idea to specific and actionable is the difficult part of creation and invention.
Find the perfect subject line
If you are planning to send your pitch via email, Your subject line or opening sentence will be the hook to capture your client’s attention. It is the difference between your client reading or simply dismiss your pitch altogether. Taking inspiration from the points stated above, your opening sentence needs to connect with your client’s needs while also communicating the story of your business. By getting these two aspects right, you can successfully engage your customer and convince them to read on.
Start with their perspective
Once you’ve convinced your client to continue reading your pitch, you next need to show how you can help them with your BIG IDEA. Imagine you have mind-melded with the person you are pitching to. How do they think about the world? What kind of things are they probably interested in? Are you aware of a common issue that your client faces, which your product or service can solve?
In your written pitch, directly address the issues that your client faces. Then focus on how your product or service can help fix these problems. By tackling the problem head-on, your clients will see that you have taken their needs into account and found the fix. What better way to prove the brilliance of what you have to offer.
Show them your best work
The next step in creating a good pitch is to show them your best work.
For example, if they are looking for content on film-making or creating TV Commercial than the link to some of those companies directly that you have created related work for. If they are looking for social media digital management than link them to the content you have already produced.
I want to be clear about something here. You need to make it as easy as possible for your potential client to see your work. That means you must use actual links within your email so they can just click and go. People are busy so the easier the better.
Turn your pitch into a story
Storytelling is the best way to attract an audience. It is a scientifically proven way to capture the listener’s attention and hold them to remember what you say. Moreover, with storytelling, you can make your pitch unforgettable. Any successful pitch can benefit from telling the story of your brand and product. And when you pitch in a form of story, you will create a stronger connection between you and your clients. This connection is often based on the fact that they can relate to your brand on a personal level.
Set Strict Timelines
Businesses are required to work on deadlines. So, it is necessary to add deadlines while pitching. Set some particular timelines that meet the specified period for the client. It shows how serious you are about the work and the project. The more dedication you have for the project, the more satisfaction the potential clients will have in supporting you. Thus, it is suitable to set deadlines for yourself and make potential clients aware of them.

Coming Up With Your Unique Selling Point (USP)
In the world of marketing, there is no time for tardiness. New ideas are being generated every day which leaves less room for creators to expand their ideas in a unique way. Coming up with ideas which are not already out there is a struggle.
Before you can sell an idea, product or service, it’s quite important to be fully convinced with what you’ve created.
You can’t really sell an idea to someone until and unless you’ve sold yourself that idea.
It’s astonishing how people come up with unique ideas and execute them in an orderly fashion.
We often question ourselves how can we effectively sell our product or service?
That’s where the concept of a unique selling point comes in.
What is USP?
For those of you who are unaware of this term. USP or Unique Selling Point in the world of marketing and advertising is a term commonly used by professionals who identify that “USP is that one aspect, element or quality which makes your idea, product or service stand out in a crowd”.
Sometimes people may not remember what product you were advertising but a unique idea never miss the eye of the customer. In fact, it is one of those elements in an ad or a campaign which leads to it being etched in the memories of potential customers.
Creative heads must understand the significance of being able to pinpoint what makes their idea or product unique. Because if they can’t, then they won’t be able to mark their territory in the market of homogeneous competitors.
The Two Routes to approaching your USPs
There are always a few ways to look at a situation. For instance, if you want to come up with ideas for your selling strategy, you must know what approach to use.
This may be done by taking a look at what you’re good at and how you can get the most out of it.
So, for easier understanding, you can take a look at the product approach versus the customer approach.
- The product approach
In the world of advertising, people look at a certain product. They familiarize themselves with the features which are presented by an advertiser. The job of the advertiser is to beautify the existing features of a product and present in an attractive way. This is done to hook the potential customer to the idea that this product is a great deal.
Brands like Nokia use the product approach where they remind the user how their product, i.e. a smartphone coming up with multiple new models, uses best of the best features alongside quality to ensure that it’s a great deal.
- The customer approach
This approach looks at a broader perspective where it targets the potential customer’s nature. It picks up certain factors which can make an idea, product or service sound like it’s made for them. For instance, look at the Q-Mobile. It is one of those smartphones that encompasses emotion alongside the concept of utilizing human traits.
In their TVC Ad aired in 2019, Q Mobile was shown to remove distance among people by highlighting how their mobile doesn’t differentiate between class, age and types of people. Q-mobile was shown being used by people of various sub cultures, color, ages, gender. It featured people who are not just part of a group but individuals as well. Such an approach which helps the customer to be able to relate to a product or service helps them to connect better.
What can you do to identify your USP?
-
Insight
Sometimes the best way to go down a path is through your gut. When people are experienced in a field all they need is their intuitive nature to help them identify what could count as their USP.
-
Research
The best and most common way to understand the hidden creativity inside oneself is by taking a look at the research. Research serves the purpose of knowledge enhancement as well as getting an inspiration. The research will help you strengthen what you already know, will introduce you to new traits about your product and lead to understanding which segmented audience can be targeted as their potential customers.
-
Competitor analysis
The most interesting part about advertising is the competitive streak this market upholds. There exist direct competitors like Pepsi and Coke whose products look and taste the exact same. But to maintain their loyal customer base they compete on a regular basis. They do a great deal on their part to study their rivals and see what the others have to offer. This leads to the elimination of common traits and looking for direction.
-
Brainstorming
This is one of those common terms used as an approach for any sort of creation. Whether it may be generating ideas for a campaign, project, presentation or anything else, brainstorming is the key.
This is the part where you go back to the basics and jolt your memory. You sit down with a group of people and pop up one after another idea. This way whatever is present in the subconscious mind usually makes its way.
-
Knowing your product/service
The most important trait or key element of developing your USP revolves around the concept of knowing yourself. Only when you know yourself, you will be able to make others believe in your product or service. You must be self-aware because any knowledge following that would be secondary in playing a part.
Now you know!
So for those of you who didn’t know what is meant by USP and why it is important, by now you will be able to understand the basics and get a clear-headed direction.

Go Through Your Ideas Before Selecting A Design
Choosing random design elements without any purpose to fill up your storyboard is never a good idea. You need to go through all the idea, brainstorm them, analyze them, evaluate them and then make a report that contains a list of designs that portray your message.
Think Like A Reader
Make an effort to look and sound professional but keep in mind the needs and thinking of your clients. Your message should be easily understandable by a layman. Use a friendly tone that makes an impression on your clients and helps you build a strong business relation with them.
Be Consistent
Create info graphics that portray your brand’s vision, mission and values. Your info graphics should also be consistent in color scheme, style and design elements and should look professional yet easily approachable.

Design: Stand Out in a Crowded Market
Do you know how many companies are there in the world? Do you know how many companies are trying to sell similar products to the same audience? So what can give one company an edge over the other? In this fast-paced world where companies have to revolutionize themselves completely in order to stay ahead of their competition, where they continuously have to come up with new ways to grab their audience’s attention, in this digital era the way they market themselves is what actually sets themselves apart. But that’s a race in itself too. So how do you win this race?
Every step that you take when creating an overall digital strategy, from building awareness of the brand, to encouraging interactions on online platforms like websites and social media to engaging the audience by creating long-term relationships, there is one critical thing that will always help you able to move successfully from one step the next. The importance of design is that one thing that you should never underestimate throughout your digital marketing strategy.
In every aspect of digital media marketing, be it email marketing, social media marketing or SEO, designers put in a lot of research and planning to bring forward the best design for each brand they work for. This is because in this digital era, in a crowded marketplace everyone is trying to grab their audience’s attention and only a good, innovative design that delivers the message instantly, gets your point across or creates an emotional connection is what enhances the visibility of your campaign.
How many times do you overlook ads shown on social media platforms like facebook? While scrolling down the newsfeed you may come across many ads that you don’t click on or stop to give a look at. So similarly, when it comes to your audience only the ads with imagery, color and fonts that appeal to them will make them stop and will most probably generate a higher click-through rate as compared to your competitor’s.
According to the Harvard Business Review, email is the best way to reach millennials. Since they are always on their phone it has become even easier to view their emails. So the question is how to make sure that the millennials actually go through your email and don’t view it as spam? How you design your emails, the concentration of text and images, placement of call-to-action buttons, all come under the way you design your emails. So with design, it’s not just about aesthetics, it’s also about user experience. This means to make it easier for your audience to navigate around, to easily find call-to-action buttons or to easily understand what your brand is trying to convey or sell.
According to a report, we touch our phones 2,617 times every day, which puts emphasis on two things. Firstly, one of the biggest mistakes that you might make is that your social media ads or your website is not mobile-friendly. It should be designed in a way that they are optimized for your audience’s mobile screen. Better would be a design that would automatically adapt to mobile or desktop thereby creating a positive user experience. Secondly, if your audience comes across your ad this many times, you can make them love and respect your brand through your design.
Here’s an example that I came across while scrolling down my newsfeed simultaneously on my desktop and on my phone to see which brands have optimized their designs for mobile. Surprisingly, Clear, which is one of the brands of Unilever had not taken mobile optimization into account when putting up their ad for the public. You can see how the ad has been cropped when viewed on your phone. So, if you were Unilever, your audience will only be able to get your ad’s message on the phone if they are willing to click on it and view it on full screen. Otherwise, they will simply scroll down and your ad will go ignored.
In contrast to the above example, here’s one of how taking design into account makes a difference. Tieks is a shoe company that has carefully designed its ad with the right amount of text and a compelling image for its desktop users while keeping the design for its mobile users simple yet bold.
The success of Volkswagen Canvas ad where they used an ariel shot is another example to look at. The way it was designed gave users a way to be more interactive by using their fingers to navigate a Volkswagen through a road and stopping in between to read on its various features. The ad not only engages the users but also clearly gives out the right image of the model that they are selling.
Therefore, the right design is what makes sure that your brand is represented the right way on every digital platform. The right design is what communicates your brand value and this is how you stay ahead in the race and this is why design is so important.
